You rode your bike happily towards your new school. You were quite pleased that you could finally go to school on your own without riding the stinky bus. You and your parents moved to a more rural part of England near the farming area.
You lived just outside the city and just outside the farm lands, so it was a quiet neighborhood and you could admire the land outside your bedroom window. You didn’t complain, it was a new place and you didn’t mind change as long as you knew it was right for you.
You turned the corner and entered the parking lot of the high school.
You chained up your bike and walked confidently inside. A few faces started to look at you up and down, trying to make out who you really were already. You just gave a smile to them and made your way to your locker. “Love the hair.” Someone behind you had said. You turned around to see a blonde girl with her arms crossed over her chest.
“Thank you.” You said. Your face had the expression of suspicion. It wouldn’t be the first time someone insulted you on your dark green low lites.
“Why didn’t you just dye your whole head?”
“That would just be ridiculous.”
“Sweetheart, it already looks like you have mold growing on the back of your neck.” she giggled.
“At least I use hair dye instead of frying my hair with peroxide.” you scowled at her. You slammed your locker closed and marched away before she had anything else to say to you. Your first class was an elective, Norse Mythology. You loved hearing the stories of Thor and Odin, you heard them ever since you were a child and you wanted to know more. By the looks of it, there wasn’t a lot of people in the class.
Your teacher stepped inside and looked at his small class, nothing had changed. Then he spotted you, “Hello, you’re a new face. Who are you?”
“I’m (y/n). I just moved here.”
“Wonderful. I’m glad to see a new student that is interested in Norse Mythology.”
“Thank you. I’ve heard the stories ever since I was little. They are of great interest to me.”
“Lovely.” he addressed the class of seven kids, “Now, just to make sure you haven’t gotten a head injury in the summer. Let’s name off the main Norse Gods and Goddesses…Go!”
“Thor.” A student replied.
“And who is Thor?” he asked.
“The God of Thunder.” they answered.
“Another, please.”
“Odin.”
“Who is he?”
“The King of Asgard.” one student replied.
“Okay, someone has been watching the Thor movies…(y/n), Who is Odin?”
“The all father, the king of all the Gods.”
“Correct.” He leaned forward towards you. “Who is your favorite God or Goddess?”
“Loki.” The class hissed in protest. “What? Even though Loki is the God of mischief and trickery, he is a really big help with the Gods.”
“Alright, since he is your favorite, tell me a little more about him.”
“Well, Loki is the son of a frost giant and tricked Odin into becoming his blood brother. In the movie, he’s Thor’s brother but that isn’t entirely true.”
“Why do you think they changed it in the movie?”
“Probably because, Thor and Loki are the most favorite since they have been popularized in comics.”
“Fair point, go on.”
“He was once the God of fire, he has the power to change his appearance and gender. He has three children. Hel, Fenrir, and Jormungandr. He’s helped build the defense walls of Asgard and helped Thor find his hammer. He has also done a number of wrong doings that he had also made up for.”
“What a genius. There is one thing he did do that angered the Gods, what was that?”
“Writing a poem that insulted every God and Goddess.”
“Resulting in?”
“Binding him to a rock with the intestines of his own son. Ragnarok freed him and he ended up battling with Heimdall and both of them died.”
“Wow. Maybe you should be the teacher. Tell me about his Children, if you don’t mind.”
“Okay, Loki disguised himself as a Mare, giving birth to an eight legged horse that became Odin’s favorite steed. Hel, is his daughter who resides in a place with the same name. she receives a portion of the dead. Her appearance is half black and half flesh.”
“Two others you have missed.”
“Oh, no. I just needed to take a breath. Fenrir is a monstrous wolf, the father of the wolves. He ends up killing Odin but Fenrir is also killed by one of Odin’s sons. Jormunganr is the World Serpent and Thor is his enemy. The serpent poisons the sky and Thor dies from it.”
The class was silent, no one had ever given that much information on the spot like that in class before.
“Okay, one last thing. His wife?”
“Angrboda. A giantess from Jotunhiem.”
“Wow. Well, that is our class. Thanks for coming this morning. I’m going to have to make a quiz now on Loki.” The teacher clapped his hands together. Your jaw dropped, did you just teach the whole class? Everyone left the room and you were left still stunned at what you have done.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to take up the whole class?” you said standing up immediately from your desk. The teacher laughed a bit and laid a hand on your shoulder, “Never apologize for being smart. I wanted to see how much you knew, you knew a lot more than I expected. Have you ever considered tutoring other kids, (y/n)?”
“No, am I really that good?”
“Yes. Good job. Have a great day, (y/n).”

You weren’t going to lie, you felt pretty awesome walking back into the hallways, “Oh one last thing, (y/n).” he called back to you and you turned around, “Nice hair. Green suits you.”
“Thanks.” You gave him a smile and walked away. Why did he look so familiar to you? You never met him your life. After school, you rode your bike back home the long way, you loved to see the green plains and mountains in the background. The wind blew through your (h/c) hair, wisping up the green locks that hid beneath.
“What is that?” you looked over to your right to see a black figure in the distance. It reared up and gave out a cry, it was a black horse. You fell off your bike from being too distracted and rolled down the hill, rocks and dust being kicked up.
When you finally stopped, you opened your eyes to the bluish gay sky above. “So much for a scenic bike ride.” You grunted out as you propped yourself up and a big huff of breath flew your hair in different directions. “Oh no.” you looked up to see the monstrous horse standing over you. It’s mane was a wavy jet black that almost reached the ground. It stared down at you with jade green eyes and his hoofs were covered by a thin layer of hair that skirted around it’s ankles. It’s coat was like black velvet and shined like silk.
“Hello there.” you said in a broken and fearful voice. The horse just huffed again and stuck his nose in your hair, “Hey! My  hair isn’t grass.” you laughed and stood up. The ebony horse backed up a little, “What is a gorgeous horse like you doing all the way out here?”
The horse only tilted his head and grunted. You reached out to touch his nose and he backed away a little more. “Are you wild?” she asked herself. “Where did you come from?”
The horse started to come closer and sniffed your backpack and nibbled at the pockets, “What did you find? Hmm?” you opened your bag and pulled out the apple that you had forgotten to eat for breakfast.
“This is what you want, here you are.” you handed him the apple and he took it from your hand, munching and grunting with satisfaction. Once he had finished, he stepped towards you and nudged you with his nose, “I don’t have any more, sorry.” The horse shook his head and lowered his nose to your hand, nudging it.
“Oh.” you laid a hand on his nose and smiled. “You are a beauty.” you pet him carefully still not knowing if he was wild or not. “You know, I’m going to have to name you now. I can’t have an animal I just met not have an identity.” you thought a moment, “Philip. It means friend of horses. What do you think?”
The horse shook his head in protest.
“Well, what do you want to be called? Oh! Wait, I’ve got it. Abellio, the green one.”
The horse nodded and whinnied.
“I had a feeling you took pride in those grand, green eyes of yours.” you said petting his nose one last time. “See, now you are named. You don’t have to wonder who you are now.” you ran your fingers through his mane and looked into his eyes, “I have to go now Abellio. I hope I can see you again.”
Abellio watched you as you climbed the hill and mounted your bike, you looked back and Abellio vanished from sight.
Okay, I'm sorry that I took a break from the Hiddleston Insert. This one was calling me and I wanted to get a little bit of it out of my system. let me know what you think. No worries about the Hiddles story. I never leave a story unfinished. Loki lol smile
